Jammu: BJP President Nitin Nabin on Tuesday called for greater coordination between elected representatives and party workers to further strengthen the party at the grassroots level.

He also urged the party leaders to intensify public interaction, remain accessible to the people, and effectively communicate the policies and achievements of the Narendra Modi-led government.

Nabin, who was on a two-day tour of Jammu, chaired a joint meeting of senior party leaders at party headquarters here. He reviewed the prevailing socio-political situation in Jammu and Kashmir and the organisational roadmap for the coming months.

“BJP’s greatest strength lies in its disciplined organization and dedicated cadre… the elected representatives and organizational workers must function as one cohesive team to further strengthen the party at the grassroots,” Nabin said.

The meeting was attended by party MPs from J&K, MLAs, former legislators, state general secretaries, former District Development Council members, and former Block Development Council members.

Among others, BJP National General Secretary, and J&K incharge Tarun Chugh, J&K BJP President Sat Sharma, Union Minister Jitendra Singh, Leader of the Opposition in J&K Assembly Sunil Sharma, and former Deputy Chief Minister Nirmal Singh attended the meeting.

“Every MP, MLA and senior leader should maintain constant coordination with party cadre, ensuring their active participation in all organizational programmes.

“Such synergy between the organisation and public representatives is indispensable for strengthening the BJP’s presence across every village, ward and booth,” the BJP leader said.

Nabin called upon all leaders to intensify public contact, remain accessible to the people, and effectively communicate the policies and achievements of the central government.

Laying special emphasis on the “Mann Ki Baat” programme, he directed that it must be organised at every single booth across Jammu and Kashmir with maximum public participation.

Through Mann Ki Baat, the prime minister has consistently highlighted ordinary citizens achieving extraordinary feats and encouraged numerous social reform movements, inspiring millions to contribute towards nation-building, Nabin said.

J&K BJP president said the guidance provided by the National President would further energise the party cadre across Jammu and Kashmir.

“J&K BJP has always functioned with discipline and dedication, and every worker is committed to taking the party’s programmes to the grassroots,” Sharma said.

He affirmed that all elected representatives would work in complete coordination with the organisational structure, ensuring that every campaign, meeting and public outreach programme reaches the booth level.

Earlier, the BJP president along with Chugh, Jitendra Singh, Sharma and other senior leaders paid floral tributes to the Praja Parishad founder, Pandit Prem Nath Dogra, at his statue here.

Nabin described Dogra as one of the tallest architects of nationalist politics in the region.

He remembered the immense contribution of Dogra to the cause of national unity and the complete integration of Jammu & Kashmir with the rest of India.

“Dogra’s sacrifices continue to inspire generations of BJP workers. He and Shyama Prasad Mookherjee devoted his entire life to safeguarding the unity, integrity and sovereignty of India,” he said.

Nabin said Dogra along with Shyama Prasad Mookherjee led the struggle for “Ek Nishan, Ek Vidhan, Ek Pradhan”, which became the ideological foundation of the movement that ultimately culminated in the abrogation of Articles 370 and 35A under the leadership of Modi.

“The people of Jammu & Kashmir have now attained the true benefits of constitutional equality, democratic empowerment and accelerated development, fulfilling the vision of Dogra and Mookherjee,” he said.

Nabin later wrapped up his two-day visit to Jammu and Kashmir, cutting short his scheduled programme due to official commitments.

He skipped his planned pilgrimage to the Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine in Reasi district and returned to New Delhi.

Owing to the change in schedule, several planned interactions, including separate meetings with district and city leaders and a youth convention, were merged into a single joint meeting.
