Jammu, Aug 24: A fresh threat letter targeting Kashmiri Pandit migrants has surfaced, nearly two weeks after a similar letter was circulated online warning community members working in Kashmir to “change their ways”.
This time, the letter reportedly contains personal details of around half a dozen Kashmiri Pandits, including their house numbers and street names in different parts of Jammu.
The letter describes the named individuals as “white-collar terrorists” and “traitors” and alleges that they are working for their “masters” in Delhi.
Officials said security agencies are verifying the authenticity of both letters and trying to identify the people behind them.
The latest letter also claims that Kashmiri Pandits who never left the Valley are safe and are not being targeted. However, it threatens those who had migrated from Kashmir and those allegedly involved in implementing the RSS agenda in the Valley.
The letter, reportedly issued in the name of the United Liberation Council and signed by Ahmed Bilal, warns the targeted individuals that their movements are being watched.
Security agencies are reportedly examining whether the group is linked to Lashkar-e-Taiba.
The latest incident comes after an earlier threat letter surfaced this month. Following that letter, the Jammu and Kashmir government had directed departments to send Kashmiri Pandit employees on leave and advised them to remain alert and move to safer locations.
The earlier letter reportedly contained the names and phone numbers of some Revenue Department employees. The fresh threats have raised concern among Kashmiri Pandit employees who returned to the Valley under the government’s PM employment package.
