SEPT 24: Chief Minister Omar Abdullah severely denounced BJP Government for showing apathy towards reinstatement of Statehood and cited, since, people did not cast a ballot in favour of BJP during Assembly Polls, they are being punished in this regard.
CM Omar Abdullah said, “The biggest challenge is that Statehood has not been restored to J&K. Regradless of the fact that the Supreme Court was apprised about three steps – Delimitation, Elections and Statehood – Delimitation was done, Elections were held which witnessed extensive participation of the masses but last step of Statehood restoration is up in the air.”
“Since, people of Jammu and Kashmir did not make BJP-Government they are being punished with apathy towards Statehood restoration,” CM Omar pointed, adding that, this is complete infrigement of trust to people as they were not informed that if the BJP will not win Assembly Polls, the Statehood will not be restored.
On J&K tourism, CM Omar Abdullah said that there were high expectation on tourism revival especially during the festive season, but it did not show the exact growth.
“Expectation from tourism during the festive season were high but it fell flat in meeting the assumptions,” CM said.
CM Omar Abdullah also said that controversy surrounding “I love Mohammad” shouldn’t erupt, no one should have objection in this regard.
“Every religion advocates love towards almighty, hence, penalizing anyone who is showing regard to Mohammad should not happen,” CM said.
CM Omar also reprimanded LoP Sunil Sharma over his remarks of different narrative and evading from the key issues.
