Srinagar: On World Tourism Day, Jammu and Kashmir Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha and Chief Minister Omar Abdullah on Sunday invited tourists and travellers from across the country and the world to visit the Union Territory, highlighting its natural beauty, warm hospitality and diverse tourism experiences.
Sinha described Jammu and Kashmir as the “crown of India” and extended an invitation to visitors to experience its scenic beauty and hospitality.
“On World Tourism Day, Jammu Kashmir, the crown of India, welcomes you all. It offers a breathtaking and timeless experience enriched with warm hospitality. I invite everyone to come and experience the enchanting charm of Jammu Kashmir,” the Lieutenant Governor said in a post on X.
Chief Minister Omar Abdullah also extended a warm invitation to travellers, describing Jammu and Kashmir as an “immortal paradise” offering experiences ranging from pristine peaks, serene lakes and lush valleys to adventure sports, leisure retreats and pilgrimage circuits.
In his message, Abdullah also highlighted the Union Territory’s potential for MICE tourism, wedding destinations, unexplored trekking routes and film locations.
“On World Tourism Day, the chief minister extended a warm invitation to travellers to experience the timeless beauty and unmatched hospitality of Jammu and Kashmir,” Abdullah said in a post on his official X handle.
The Chief Minister reaffirmed the government’s commitment to strengthening tourism infrastructure and promoting sustainable eco-tourism, with local youth and Jammu and Kashmir’s cultural traditions at the centre of the hospitality sector.
Both messages underscored Jammu and Kashmir’s appeal as a destination offering a combination of natural landscapes, cultural heritage, pilgrimage, adventure and hospitality.
Welcoming visitors, Abdullah called upon people from across India and the world to explore Jammu and Kashmir and create cherished memories, while Sinha invited tourists to experience what he described as the region’s “enchanting charm”.
World Tourism Day is observed annually on September 27 to highlight the importance of tourism and its contribution to communities, economies and cultural exchange.
