Pakistan Isolated at UNSC: Global Community Rejects Propaganda, Reaffirms J&K as an Integral Part of India says Gaurav Gupta

JAMMU, May 6: In a resounding diplomatic victory for India, the United Nations Security Council (UNSC) has once again unequivocally rejected Pakistan’s baseless narrative on Jammu & Kashmir, reinforcing India’s sovereign stance and further exposing Islamabad’s continued patronage of terrorism.
Gaurav Gupta, Spokesperson BJP J&K said, “The closed-door UNSC consultations, convened at Pakistan’s behest following the tragic April 22 terror attack in Pahalgam—which deliberately targeted innocent Hindu pilgrims and tourists—turned into a diplomatic embarrassment for Pakistan. Attempting to portray the incident as a ‘false flag operation,’ Pakistan once again sought to deflect attention from the terror infrastructure that operates openly on its soil. This blatant misinformation campaign was decisively dismissed by the majority of Council members.”
UNSC members instead turned the spotlight on Pakistan, demanding accountability for the unchecked activities of UN-designated terrorist groups such as Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT), which continue to thrive with overt state support. The Council strongly condemned the sectarian nature of the Pahalgam attack and reiterated the international community’s commitment to protecting civilian lives and upholding counterterrorism norms.
Adding to Pakistan’s diplomatic woes was the recent testing of the Fatah-1 guided rocket system and the Abdali ballistic missile. These provocative actions were criticized as dangerously escalatory, threatening the fragile peace and violating the spirit of confidence-building measures in South Asia. Several member states questioned both the intent and timing of these tests.
Crucially, the UNSC reaffirmed its long-standing view that the Jammu & Kashmir issue must be resolved bilaterally between India and Pakistan, in accordance with the Simla Agreement (1972) and Lahore Declaration (1999). There was zero appetite among permanent members for any third-party intervention or for internationalizing the matter. The United States, France, the United Kingdom, and Russia—all stood firmly with India, reiterating that developments in Jammu & Kashmir fall entirely within the framework of India’s sovereign jurisdiction.
Of even greater significance was the silence of Pakistan’s traditional allies. China, while measured in its remarks, refrained from endorsing Islamabad’s stance. More notably, leading Islamic nations such as Saudi Arabia, UAE, and Bahrain—long considered close to Pakistan—offered no support, reflecting their deepening strategic and economic partnerships with India, including in the Union Territory of Jammu & Kashmir.
