NOV 12: With massive hue and cry about the Delhi explosion, the National Investigation Agency (NIA) has constituted a ten-member Special Investigation Team to thoroughly probe the blast near Red Fort that claimed 12 lives and injured over dozen people.
Notably, the team will be led by ADG Vijay Sakhare, includes an IG, two DIGs, three SPs and DSP-range officers.
It is learnt that the move comes following the Ministry of Home Affairs handed over the investigation to NIA outlining the terror angle behind the explosion. Following the transfer of the case to NIA, the agency is also coordinating with other security units as part of its ongoing investigation.
The investigation includes the recovery on November 8, 2025 wherein huge consignment of weapons, pistols, and explosives were seized from Al-Falah Medical College.
In the course of questioning, the information about others involved in the module resulted in the arrest of a doctor named Muzammil from Al-Falah Medical College in Faridabad along with the seizure of a large cache of incriminating material.
Approximately, 3,000 kg of explosive substances and bomb-making equipment were recovered from this module.
Besides, the CCTV footage indicates that the vehicle involved in the Red Fort explosion was being driven by Dr Umar who worked at Al-Falah Medical College.
The NIA will uncover the action of fugitive Dr Umar, was an act in panic and desperation, as it eventually led to the Delhi blast.
