Azadi ka Amrut Mahotsav JKAACL organises Musical Evening in District Jail Poonch

POONCH: Jammu & Kashmir Academy of Art, Culture and Languages organised a Musical evening here in District Jail Poonch to mark the Azadi ka Amrut Mahotsav celebration.

The event was hosted under the guidance of Secretary JKAACL, Rahul Panday and with the support of Superintendent Jail, Rajni Sehgal.

The program was supervised by Additional Secretary JKAACL, Sanjeev Rana.

Around two hundred inmates of district Jail Poonch, belt force employees, prominent persons and Media fraternity witnessed and enjoyed the Musical event held with due adherence to Covid Appropriate Behaviour.

The Artists Pardeep Khanna, Singer, Khursheed Rather-Singer, Sanjay Sharma- Harmonium player, Prem Prakash Khajuria- Tabla player, Nazir Hussain- Folk singer, Shabnum Akhter and Sadeeq Ahmad-Dholak player performed at the event. The program started with the National Anthem and followed by Kashmiri songs, Pahari and Gojri Geets and Folk Lores.

In his welcome address, Dr. Alamdar Adam, Special officer for cultural Activities Rajouri-Poonch, expressed gratitude to superintendent District Jial Poonch for inviting singers, musicians and artists for performance. He also interacted with the Jail inmates and encouraged them to stay positive and look forward for a bright future.

Superintendent of Jail, Rajni Sehgal presented vote of thanks and appreciated the Cultural Academy Rajouri and Secretary and Additional Secretary JKAACL for organising the event for entertainment of Jail inmates.
