Jammu: Jammu Kashmir Reserved Categories Empowerment Alliance (JKRCEA) on slammed the bureaucracy of Jammu and Kashmir for what they called it's anti-SC/ST policies and alleged that it is willfully depriving the community of their rights.
“The J&K bureaucracy after imposition of Governors Rule initially and then President’s Rule (LG’s Administration) have turned out to be ‘supreme powers’ and they do not care about rules favouring the general masses,” the alliance said.
“They sabotaged the matter of reservation in promotions and deliberately misinterpreting Status Quo and Stay of the Supreme Court of India against the High Court Judgment and then by arbitrator circular, sabotaged promotions of all the SC/ST employees,” alleged the Alliance members.
Pertinently, the Reservation Act of 2004 stands protected in J&K Reorganization Act of 2019 that was passed by both Houses of the Parliament.
“The bureaucracy has become so anti-SC/ST and not doing anything positive address the matter pending in the Supreme Court,” the JKRCEA said adding that blatant violation of J&K’s Reservation Act and Rules, Presidential Order dated 01-03-2019, extended 77th constitutional amendment to J&K during President’s Rule in J&K are the glaring examples of bureaucratic over activism.
Even the implementation of Mandal Commission report is awaited in JKUT and the unconstitutionally carved categories are enjoying good share of reservation in educational institutions and employment at the cost of depriving OBCs of their due share, they said.
