Police arrest two drug peddlers, recover poppy straw in south Kashmir

Srinagar, May 8: Jammu and Kashmir police on Saturday arrested two drug peddlers and recovered grinded poppy straw from their vehicle in south Kashmir district of Shopian, a police spokesman said this evening.

He said during COVID-19 duty a police party intercepted a vehicle without registration number at New Bus Stand, Shopian.

However, during the checking of the vehicle police recovered grinded poppy straw, he said adding both the persons were arrested and vehicle seized.

Police has registered a case and initiated further investigation, he added.
