Routine flight ops to resume from Tuesday at Jammu Airport

Jammu, Apr 19: The routine flight operations, which were suspended in view of runway expansions and other allied works, will resume from Tuesday at Jammu Airport.

Airport official said that routine flight operations will resume as per earlier watch hours from April 20, unlike restricted flights for the last more than one month in view of runway resurfacing and other allied works, which have been completed.

"With effect from April 20, the Jammu Airport will be available for routine operations with last flight departure at 1620 hrs as flight schedule in this regard was issued today by the Airport Authority," Director Jammu Airport, P R Beuria said.

He added that from Tuesday, 25 flights of different airlines will land and take off every day with the arrival of the first flight at 0735 hours from Delhi and the last flight depart to Srinagar at 1620 hours.

Accordingly, the Airport was made available for operations of civilian flights from 0600 hrs to 1300 hrs with the last flight departure at 1250 hrs from March 10 to April 19.

Pertinent to mention that flights from Jammu Airport were earlier regulated from March 10 to April 19 to enable the Indian Air Force (IAF) to carry out resurfacing and other allied works after the Centre shot down its proposal for a complete closure of the strategic airport from March 6 to 20.
