Jammu: The Minister for Youth Services and Sports, Satish Sharma, highlighted the government’s commitment to providing support and job opportunities for sports persons in Jammu and Kashmir.
Talking to reporters , he emphasized the need to recognize the contributions of sports persons who have spent their lives in the field of sports but have been struggling with unemployment.
He assured that efforts are underway to address this issue and soon, under the leadership of the Chief Minister, sports persons will receive recognition and opportunities through letters. Sharma also noted the necessity for amendments in policies and better inclusion of various sports that are often overlooked.
Addressing concerns about the poor condition of sports infrastructure in Jammu, particularly the state of stadiums and other sports facilities,
Sharma confirmed that the government is actively working on improving the infrastructure. He mentioned that facilities like swimming pools and football grounds have been in a dilapidated state for years, with some affected by political challenges. However, the government is determined to bring improvements in these areas.
