Govt retains over 190 officers across deptts at Jmu secretariat for summers

Jammu: As the bi-annual Darbar Move officially kicks off, the Government of Jammu and Kashmir has ordered 191 officers and officials to remain stationed at the Civil Secretariat in Jammu for the Summer 2026 season.

According to Government Order No. 851-JK(GAD) of 2026 issued by the General Administration Department, the officers and officials will continue to remain stationed in Jammu in continuation of Government Order No. 786-JK(GAD) of 2026 dated April 15, 2026.

The order states that the arrangement is temporary and will remain in force until the completion of the Darbar Move from Jammu to Srinagar. In Agriculture Production Department five offials Rajesh Kumar Sapolia (Under Secretary to the Government, G-47 Main Block), Rajesh Kumar (Section Officer), Ajay Kumar (Assistant Section Officer), Meenakshi Pandit Kaul (Assistant Section Officer), and Reecha Sharma (Junior Stenographer) have been retained. In ARI and Trainings Department- Karan Singh (Under Secretary, G-29 Main Block), Ashok Kumar (Assistant Section Officer), Inder Jeet Singh (Assistant Section Officer), Tarsem Lal (Statistical Assistant), and Romey Sharma (Junior Secretariat Assistant). In Civil Aviation Department Veedushi Kapoor (Additional Secretary, 3/27 Main Block) and Pooja Khajuria (Junior Secretariat Assistant), in Cooperative Department- Anju Raina (Under Secretary), Maninder Pal Singh (Assistant Section Officer), Akash Sharma (Junior Secretariat Assistant), and Sheetu (MTS). In  Commissioner of Enquiries-Shavana Akhter (Junior Stenographer, 3/42 Main Block) has been retained. In Culture Department-Rehana Tabassam (Under Secretary), Jussy Bhat (Section Officer), Neha Sharma (Junior Stenographer), Muskan Sharma (Junior Secretariat Assistant), and Ashok Kumar (MTS, Watch and Ward, 4/34 Mini Block), in Disaster Management, Relief, Rehabilitation and Reconstruction- Sudhir Bali (Additional Secretary, 3/32 Main Block), Karan Singh (Assistant Accounts Officer), Deepika Sharma (Assistant Section Officer), Devinder Singh (Senior Secretariat Assistant), and Reetika Sharma (Junior Secretariat Assistant), in Public Grievances Department- Rajinder Singh (Under Secretary), Anku Chowra (Section Officer), Garo Devi (Assistant Section Officer), Anita Sharma (Assistant Section Officer), and Mohd. Farooq (Senior Assistant).City & Local Guides and in Forest, Ecology and Environment Ambika Bali (Under Secretary, 3/35 Mini Block), Chattur Singh Jamwal (Section Officer), Sarika Angurana (Assistant Section Officer), and Neha Kumari (Junior Secretariat Assistant) has been retained. In Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs- Mansoor Aslam Chowdhary (Special Secretary, 2/21 Mini Block), Swami Raj (I/c Section Officer), Varun Sharma (Assistant Section Officer), Rajinder Singh (Junior Stenographer), and Sunaina Mehta (MTS), in Floriculture, Gardens and Parks- Shakoor Hussain (Private Secretary, 2/14 Mini Block), Imran Hayat (Senior Secretariat Assistant), Sunil Kumar (Junior Secretariat Assistant), and Pardeep Kumar Sharma (Junior Secretariat Assistant) and in Law, Justice and Parliamentary AffairsTravel Guides & Travelogues- Villy Kaul (Special Secretary, G-07 Main Block), Arvind Parshad Sharma (Junior Assistant), Nischal Mahajan (Junior Assistant), Suresh Kumar (MTS), and Anil Kumar (MTS) have been retained.

Five officials each in- Rural Development and Panchayati Raj, Skill Development, Tribal Affairs, Finance Department, General Administration Department and Health and Medical Education department have been retained. Also officials in Higher Education, Housing and Urban Development, Hospitality and Protocol, Industries and Commerce, Information Department,  Information Technology Department,  JK e-Governance Agency, Jal Shakti Department. Labour and Employment Department, Mining Department, Office of Chief Secretary, Planning, Development and Monitoring department, Power Development Department, Public Works (R and B) Department, Revenue Department, School Education Department, Social Welfare Department, Science and  Technology Department, Transport Department, Tourism Department, Youth Services and Sports Department and Chief Accounts Officer GP Fund have been retained.

Additional Units have been retained in Civil Secretariat Dispensary staff, Central Registry Unit staff, and SWAGATAM Jammu staff have also been retained for continued functioning in Jammu.

The government said the arrangement is temporary and will remain in force until completion of the Darbar Move process. It further directed that all rooms in the Civil Secretariat, Jammu, except those allotted to retained staff, shall be sealed after the move, while rooms allotted to ministers and administrative secretaries will remain open during their visits.
