Srinagar, July 08: Counter Intelligence Kashmir (CIK) on Wednesday carried out simultaneous searches at two locations in Srinagar as part of an investigation into a case registered under the Indian Penal Code (IPC) and the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act (UAPA), officials said.
According to officials, the searches were conducted in connection with FIR No. 04/2026 registered at Police Station CIK Srinagar under Sections 505 and 153A of the IPC, along with Sections 13 and 18 of the UAPA.
One CIK team searched a residence at Bagh-i-Mehtab belonging to Altaf Ahmad Bhat, son of Abdul Jabbar Bhat, who has been living in Pakistan since 1990.
At the same time, another team conducted a search at a house in Sheikh-ul-Alam Colony, Nowgam, owned by Mukhtar Ahmad Baba, son of Mohammad Yaseen Baba. Officials said he has been residing in Pakistan since 2022.
Officials added that the investigation is ongoing and more information will be shared as the probe progresses.
