MARCH 8: J&K CM Omar Abdullah said that the Government is planning to construct a ‘Yatri Niwas’ at Sharda Temple in Kupwara district.
Answering a question by a legislator in Assembly, CM Omar Abdullah said a comprehensive project for building the ‘Yatri Niwas’ and cafeteria at the Sharda Temple is in full swing.
CM Omar Abdullah added that it would amount to Rs 1.5 Crore and the work in this regard is underway.
It is learnt that The Save Sharda Committee set up the Maa Sharda Devi Temple in Teetwal, near the Line of Control in 2023. Besides, Kashmiri Pandits have demanded the revival of the Sharda Peeth Corridor to POK.
“Karnah valley in Kupwara district has tourism potential and need to exploit it. Efforts of Government are underway in this direction” said CM Omar Abdullah.
