18 Feb: Union Home Minister Amit Shah reviewed the status of the implementation of the New Criminal Laws in J&K.
In the course of his meeting, J&K Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha and J&K Chief Minister Omar Abdullah were present who held threadbare discussion on New Criminal Laws.
Although law and order comes under Central Government since the former state was bifurcated into Union Territories of Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh in 2019, Chief Minister Omar Abdullah attended the meeting.
Pertinent to mention, Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita and Bharatiya Sakshya Adhiniyam are three Criminal laws introduced by Government in 2024
