Jammu, October 28: Jammu and Kashmir Health and Education Minister Sakina Itoo on Wednesday said that dissatisfaction among some National Conference leaders following the recent cabinet expansion should not be seen as a major issue, stating that party members have the freedom to express their views.
Itoo said the National Conference functions like a family, where members can openly share their concerns and disagreements.
She said that just as family members express their displeasure within the household, party leaders too have the right to raise their concerns within the organisation.
The minister maintained that the leaders who have expressed dissatisfaction over the cabinet expansion remain part of the National Conference, adding that such differences are a normal part of the democratic process.
Itoo also criticised opposition parties for raising questions over the issue, saying they were using the cabinet reshuffle to target the ruling party instead of focusing on other matters.
Her remarks come after Chief Minister Omar Abdullah’s recent cabinet expansion, in which four ministers were inducted. The reshuffle reportedly left some party leaders unhappy over the allocation of ministerial positions.
