Srinagar, September 24: Chief Minister Omar Abdullah, who also looks after the Housing and Urban Development Department, introduced a bill in the Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Assembly on Thursday to amend the Jammu and Kashmir Municipal Act, 2000.
The legislation, titled the Jammu and Kashmir Municipal (Amendment) Bill, 2026, was introduced during the ongoing Autumn Session of the Assembly.
The bill, listed as L.A. Bill No. 10 of 2026, has already been published in an extraordinary edition of the Official Gazette.
