Jammu, September 3: The Border Security Force (BSF) on Thursday detained a suspected Pakistani national after he was found near the Jammu International Border in the Kanachak sector, officials said.
The individual was intercepted during the morning hours near Border Out Post (BOP) Sohan in the Kanachak sector by personnel of the 44th BSF Battalion.
Preliminary information identified the detained man as Nazir Sadhir, aged around 40 to 45 years. He is reportedly the son of late Mohammad Nazir and a resident of Luni village in Pakistan’s Sialkot district.
After being intercepted, the man was taken into BSF custody for questioning. A Deputy Inspector General (DIG) of the force also visited the location and reviewed the situation, officials said.
The BSF is currently questioning the individual to establish his identity and determine how and why he entered the area. Officials are also examining other circumstances surrounding the incident.
