Jammu, August 18: The Jammu Kashmir Students Association has alleged that two Kashmiri pharmacy students studying under the PMSSS scheme are facing harassment, intimidation and pressure to vacate their accommodation in Bhopal.
The students, enrolled at TRUBA Institute of Pharmacy, have been staying as paying guests at Shanti Homes Colony since last year as the institute currently lacks hostel facilities.
According to JKSA, some local residents are allegedly pressuring the landlord to evict the students because they are from Kashmir and are Muslims. The association also claimed that the landlord was threatened with forced entry if the students were not removed.
The students have reportedly approached college authorities for help but, according to JKSA, have not received adequate assistance.
The association has urged authorities to ensure the students’ safety and allow them to continue their education without fear or discrimination.
