Srinagar, Apr 7: Deputy Commissioner Akshay Labroo has emphasized the need to strengthen infrastructure and improve public facilities in the Shehr-e-Khaas area and its adjoining localities to ensure better service delivery for residents.
The Deputy Commissioner said that the administration has held consultations with stakeholders and other sections of society, including residents, traders, and youth groups, to understand their concerns and plan development works accordingly. He noted that continuous engagement with the public remains a key part of the administrationโs approach to urban development.
Highlighting ongoing initiatives, Labroo said that three major revenue office projects in the city are nearing completion and will significantly improve access to government services. He stated that Tehsil Khanyar will soon have its own dedicated office building, which is almost complete, while construction of the Tehsil Eidgah office is also in progress. He added that the Administrative East office project is expected to be completed shortly and will be formally handed over for public use in the near future.
The Deputy Commissioner further pointed out that the revenue offices in these areas witness heavy public footfall on a daily basis, making it necessary to upgrade infrastructure and streamline services for the convenience of citizens.
He also assured that road conditions and other civic issues raised during consultations will be addressed in upcoming development plans, subject to the availability of government funding.
Officials said the administration is focusing on the overall development of Shehr-e-Khaas and nearby areas through targeted infrastructure upgrades aimed at improving public services and administrative efficiency.
