Srinagar, August 14: Divisional Commissioner Kashmir Anshul Garg on Friday clarified that no official order has been issued directing PM package employees to work from home amid security concerns.
Garg urged the public and employees to depend only on official information released by the government and administration, and not on unverified reports or rumours.
He said adequate security arrangements have been put in place for employees, residents and the general public ahead of the Independence Day celebrations in Srinagar.
Garg also invited people to attend the main Independence Day function at Bakshi Stadium on Saturday, where Chief Minister Omar Abdullah will hoist the national flag and address the gathering at 10 am.
He said a full dress rehearsal was conducted at the stadium on Thursday, with parade contingents and cultural groups taking part after nearly 20 days of preparations.
The Divisional Commissioner added that security agencies had reviewed the arrangements to ensure the celebrations are conducted smoothly and safely.
