Pahalgam,June 15: Stressing the importance of communal harmony, PDP president Mehbooba Mufti on Monday urged Kashmiris to welcome Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra pilgrims with warmth and compassion, saying the annual pilgrimage offers an opportunity to strengthen bonds and dispel misconceptions.
She said every pilgrim visiting the Valley returns home with stories of Kashmir’s people, traditions and hospitality, making them ambassadors of the region’s rich culture and values.
Mufti emphasised that the responsibility of ensuring a smooth and memorable yatra extends beyond security agencies and rests equally with the people of Kashmir. She said acts of kindness and genuine human interaction can go a long way in promoting understanding and reinforcing the spirit of coexistence.
Calling hospitality Kashmir’s greatest strength, the PDP leader said extending respect and care to pilgrims is the most powerful answer to prejudice and misinformation surrounding Kashmir and its people.
