Tangmarg, May 06: Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah has termed the alleged voter list deletions during the West Bengal elections as “wrong,” while raising concerns over the timing of legal proceedings related to the matter.
He said that it was acknowledged in court that the hearing would take place after the elections, questioning the relevance of such a delay. He remarked that addressing such issues after the election results reduces their practical impact and raised concerns over the fairness of the process.
Abdullah further alleged that voters were removed from electoral rolls in West Bengal and said such actions cannot be denied. He questioned the intent behind raising electoral objections after the completion of polling, suggesting that the timing undermines accountability.
Responding to allegations made by the PDP regarding Shopian, he addressed the reported sealing of Darul Uloom Jamia Siraj-ul-Uloom in the Imam Sahib area. He said he does not act on claims made by other organisations and rejected suggestions that his government remains silent on issues. He added that the administration acts whenever required on relevant matters.
He also dismissed reports that any National Conference MLAs are planning to leave the party or support the BJP, calling such claims baseless.
