JAMMU: Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha on Tuesday said that India’s development journey has moved beyond mere statistics and is now transforming lives at the grassroots level, with benefits reaching every household under the leadership of Narendra Modi.
The Lieutenant Governor was addressing a gathering after unveiling the statue of noted social worker Vijay Bahadur Singh at Ghazipur in Uttar Pradesh, where he highlighted the changing landscape of governance and inclusive growth in the country.
Emphasising the shift towards people-centric development, he said that policies are no longer confined to reports and data but are visible in the daily lives of citizens. He noted that crores of families who once lacked basic housing now have their own homes, bringing dignity and a sense of security.
He further highlighted the expansion of infrastructure across the country, stating that road connectivity has reached remote villages and the number of airports has significantly increased, improving accessibility and boosting economic opportunities. He also underlined the impact of the digital revolution, saying that it has connected every section of society, including those in far-flung areas.
The Lieutenant Governor pointed out that today even the marginalised sections have access to bank accounts, digital identity, and smartphones for financial transactions. He described this transformation not merely as technological progress but as a form of social empowerment that is enabling greater participation in the country’s growth story.
Highlighting progress in the education sector, he said that new schools, universities and reforms under the national education policy are shaping a future where youth are better prepared to lead. He added that special emphasis on education for girls and innovation-driven learning is creating opportunities that were previously unavailable.
The Lieutenant Governor reiterated that India is steadily moving towards becoming a developed nation and that the vision for 2047 represents a collective national resolve. He said that inclusive development, strengthened infrastructure, and empowered citizens are key pillars in realising this vision.
Paying tribute to Vijay Bahadur Singh, he described him as a selfless social worker and a true karma yogi whose contributions continue to inspire generations. He said Singh’s dedication to education and social upliftment serves as a reminder of the values needed to build a strong and inclusive nation.
The event brought together local residents, officials and community members, reflecting on the legacy of service and the broader vision of nation-building through inclusive and sustainable development.
