Jammu: An Army personnel lost his life after suffering a crush injury during a training exercise at the SAVOC Army Training Area, Birpur, Bari Brahmana, on Saturday.
The deceased has been identified as Deepak Singh (JC251841P) of 4 Horse Ratnuchak, son of Rattan Singh, aged 43, and a resident of Bhalwal Mulo, Pargwal.
According to police sources, the soldier sustained fatal injuries after reportedly falling over an Army tank during the exercise. He was first taken to 166 Military Hospital, Satwari, where doctors declared him brought dead, and later shifted to GMC Jammu for post-mortem.
A case has been registered at Police Station Bari Brahmana, and further investigation is underway.
