JUNE 30: A Pakistani national apprehended while infiltrating along the LoC near border districts of Poonch and Rajouri is a terrorist guide.
As per the officials, Mohammed Arif helmed a group of four Jaish-e-Mohammad (JeM) terrorists while infiltrating Indian side was arrested on Sunday.
Arif who hails from Datote village in Pakistan-occupied Jammu and Kashmir (PoJK), was arrested from the forward Hajura post in Gambhir area, the officials said.
While Arif, in his late 20s, was captured, the four terrorists fled when they noticed the Indian Army.
Army troops could not open fire on the terrorists due to the presence of Pakistani posts nearby, officials said.
The successful counter-infiltration operation highlights the unwavering commitment of the Indian Army in safeguarding the national borders towards maintaining the peace and tranquility.
