JUNE 17: As a heightened security measure for Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra, the Government has declared the entire pilgrimage route as a “No Flying Zone”.
As per the reports, the Union Territory has declared all the routes of Amarnath Yatra including both Pahalgam & Baltal as ‘No Flying Zone’.
It is learnt that this security measure covers aerial devices including UAVs, drones and balloons
The decision implemented by the Ministry of Home Affairs GoI will be applicable from July 1 to August 10. However, medical evacuation, disaster management, or surveillance operations conducted by security forces will be deprived from these restrictions.
The annual Amarnath Yatra will commence from July 3 and culminate on August 9.
In view of the Pahalgam attack, security has been intensified for convenient and hassle-free conduct of the upcoming Amarnath Yatra.
As many as 580 companies of Central Armed Paramilitary Forces (CAPF) are in place for the smooth pilgrimage.
