DEO Kishtwar reviews preparedness for ensuing elections

KISHTWAR, JANUARY 17: Deputy Commissioner (DEO) Kishtwar, Angrez Singh Rana today reviewed preparedness for ensuing elections here at a meeting attended by senior functionaries of civil and Police administration, besides AEROs from across the district.
Threadbare discussion was held pertaining to physical verification of polling stations, including provision of basic minimum facilities, appointment of supervisors /booth level officers, SVEEP activities, formation of booth awareness groups(BAGs), appointment of BLAs, continuous updation of electoral roll and hassle free flow of information.
The DEO directed the AEROs to expedite the Physical verification of polling stations including the furnishing of information about latitude-longitude co ordinates. He further directed to ensure Assured Minimum Facilities at all the Polling Stations in their respective jurisdictions and asked them to project requirements in this regard, if any, within a week’s time.
He further directed the concerned to go for any replacements/appointments of Supervisors/ booth Level Officers only after taking prior permission of the District Election Officer.
The DEO also laid stress on holding extensive voters’ awareness activities as per the SVEEP Plan prepared by the Nodal Officer.
He further asked the BLOs to continue to receive claims and objections for constant up-dation and submit the record to their respective AEROS.
