Deceased NRI’s body cremated at Jogi Gate, BJP MP vows to raise land mafia issuein RS

Jammu: Deceased NRI Avtar Singh, who was murdered at Greater Kailash on April 30,2024, was cremated today at cremation ground Jogi Gate,Jammu. Meanwhile Jammu and Kashmir Police continued its raids and seizures from the residences of the accused persons.
Police said that it has seized two vehicles involved in the commission of crime along with raids at houses of suspects to affect their arrest. “The CCTV footage of the area around the scene of crime was looked at and relevant evidence picked up digitally. Jammu Police remains committed to solve the crime and attack the root causes of it”, said police through a handout issued today.
The funeral procession of deceased Avtar Singh in vehicle registration number JK02AT-1313 reached at cremation Ground,Jogi Gate Jammu. Other prominent persons who had arrived includedTaranjit Singh Tony ( DDC member Suchetgarh), Hussain Wafa ( Senior Congress leader), Devinder Kour (Bhuaji) head Jethuwali and her brother Sujit Singh from Punjab, Avtar Singh Khalsa ( member DGPC), Ghulam Ali Khatana( MP Rajya Sabha), Rajinder Sharma ( ex Mayor) and Manjeet Singh ( Provincial president Jammu JKAP).
Earlier, they reached the deceased's residence at Santokh Vihar Kaluchak Jammu to pay condolences. While speaking on the occasion, Ghulam Nabi Khatana,MP, condemned the killing of Avtar Singh. He stated that Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah personally supervise J&K and added that LG J&K UT led administration would take strict action in this regard. He assured that any discrepancies in the system would be resolved and law would do its work.
Rajinder Sharma, ex Mayor BJP, said that he has full confidence in LG Sinha that he will get this nexus exposed. He termed it as a very serious issue and showed concern about the common man where he will go to settle their issues because land mafia has become so powerful nowadays that issues of general public pertaining to revenue are not being resolved without the intervention of nexus of land mafia. He said that MP Khatana has vowed to put these issues in the Rajya Sabha in New Delhi.
MP Khatana also assured the victim's family that justice will be served, and the guilty will definitely receive exemplary punishment for their heinous crime.
