Alert sounded as one case of chickenpox detects in south Kashmir

Srinagar, Sep 19: An alert has been sounded and doctors are closely monitoring the situation after a case of chickenpox was detected in a school in south Kashmir district of Shopian.

Meanwhile, district administration has appealed to people not to panic as situation is completely under control.

Officials said on Sunday a team of doctors, paramedical staff and other health functionaries are closely monitoring the situation after District Surveillance Unit (DSU), Shopian received information on September 17, 2021 regarding chickenpox cases in Rainbow Education International School, Darul-Uloom Vehil and Eternal Success School of District Shopian.

They said after proper check up only one case of chickenpox was found from Rainbow Education International School.

The student was asked to rest in isolation at home and his parents were advised not to send their child to school, they said adding proper treatment was being provided to student at his home.

The doctors team is closely and keenly monitoring the situation and the people of the district are appealed not to panic as the situation is completely under control.

Further the investigation is on and the District Surveillance Unit Shopian along with doctors, paramedical staff and other health functionaries are on forefront to control the disease from spreading further more.
