Srinagar, Sep 18: Security forces detained three people, including a woman, after recovering around 500 to 600 gold coins from a vehicle in Kulgam district on Friday, officials said.
The vehicle, bearing a Madhya Pradesh registration number, was stopped for checking in the Mirbazar area while it was travelling from Qazigund towards Srinagar.
During the checking, the security forces found the gold coins inside the vehicle. The exact weight and value of the recovered coins have not been confirmed yet.
The vehicle was seized and taken to Police Post Mirbazar, while the three occupants were taken into custody for questioning.
Further investigation into the matter is underway, officials said.
