Jammu: In a significant administrative reshuffle, the Jammu and Kashmir Home Department has ordered the transfer and posting of two IPS and nine JKPS officers across various departments and units, with immediate effect.
According to Government Order No. 381-Home of 2025, Vinod Kumar, IPS (2011), DIG Armed Jammu, has been transferred and posted as DIG IRP Jammu against an available vacancy. Sameer Sharma, IPS (2011), who was awaiting posting, will now take over as DIG Armed Jammu, replacing Vinod Kumar.
Among the JKPS officers, Kulbir Singh, JKPS (1999), SSP Ramban, has been posted as Director of the Commando Training Centre, Lethpora. Randeep Kumar, JKPS (1999), SSP Security HQ J&K, has been posted as SSP PTWS Jammu.
Arun Gupta, JKPS (2001), SSP SB CID Jammu, will now serve as SSP Ramban, replacing Kulbir Singh. Liagat Ali, JKPS (2001), SO to Commandant General HG/CD/SDRF J&K, has been posted as SSP PTWS Kashmir.
Jameel Ahmad, JKPS (2001), Principal STC Sheeri, will hold the additional charge of Commandant IR-13. Meanwhile, Mohd. Rafi Giri, JKPS (2008), Dy. CO 2nd Border Battalion, has been posted as SO to the Commandant General HG/CD/SDRF J&K in place of Liagat Ali.
Sunil Kumar Kesar, JKPS (2011), Addl. SP (Ops) Doda, has been transferred as Dy. CO IR-15, and Zahid Aziz Samoon, JKPS (2011), Dy. SP (Ops) Pulwama, has been posted as Dy. CO IR-17.
The government has also relieved Dr. Sunil Gupta, IPS (2005), from the post of Inspector General of Police (IGP) Crime, J&K, to enable him to take up a new assignment outside the Union Territory, effective from July 28.
In a follow-up move, Sujit Kumar, IPS (2007), currently serving as IGP Security J&K, has been assigned additional charge of IGP Crime J&K until further orders.
