SEPT 27: Inspector General (IG), BSF Kashmir Frontier, Ashok Yadav on Saturday said that since terrorists are waiting in their launching pads across LoC to disrupt the peace in Kashmir valley, the security is on high alert to thwart those nefarious attempts.
While speaking to reporters, IG, BSF Ashok Yadav said that before the beginning of Winter season, there has always been escalation in attempts to infiltrate terrorists in the valley.
IG Yadav said, “With Winter about the begin, the attempts across the LoC to infiltrate in the valley will see rise becuase after that for six months it will not be feasible to infiltrate owing to snow in Kashmir valley. Attempts are always made but owing to the heightened security and vigilant troops, it will be difficult.”
He added, “The presence of terrorists is certain on the launching pads across LoC opposite AOR (Area of Responsibility) in Bandipora and Kupwara sectors. And they are waiting for opportunity get into the Indian fence but the security is tough to deal with.”
Yadav said the Army and the BSF were vigilant and dominating the LoC with assistance of the cutting-edge technology.
“The security forces have thwarted two infiltration attempts as of now this year. Besides, it is tough to penetrate our AOR because besides valour and indomitable spirit, the vigile with which we perform our duties and the new methodology and real-time monitoring equipment that we have,” the IG BSF added.
