JULY 5: In view of Indo-US trade deal, LoP Lok Sabha and Senior Congress leader Rahul Gandhi launched a scathing attack on PM Modi citing that Union Minister Piyush Goyal stated that India would not seal a deal under deadlines.
On Friday, Union Minister Piyush Goyal had claimed that India would agree to interim trade deal with the US only when it is finalised besides in the interest of nation.
“Piyush Goyal can beat his chest all he wants, mark my words, Modi will meekly bow to the Trump tariff deadline,” Rahul Gandhi posted on X.
Aditionally, Congress leaders have been severely reprimanding Prime Minister for being mum and not uttering a single word against US President Trump’s repeated claims of ensuring ceasefire between India and Pakistan after the Pahalgam bloodshed.
Goyal had said earlier that the Free Trade Agreements are feasible only when both India and US benefit and national interest should always be supreme
Pertinent to mention, that US President Donald Trump has set a deadline of July 9 to finalise the trade agreement with India.
