Seeks status of State Mother to Gau Mata and declare Jammu as the permanent capital
Jammu:- Shiv Sena (UBT) Jammu-Kashmir unit leaders led by state chief Manish Sahni today met the Deputy Chief Minister of Jammu-Kashmir Surendra Chaudhary and submitted a memorandum demanding to give the status of Mother State to Gau Mata and declare Jammu as the permanent capital of J&K.
While briefing the media after the meeting, Manish Sahni said that recently the decision of the Omar Abdullah government to renovate Hindu temples in Kashmir valley and to approve Rs. 17 crore has been strongly welcomed.
Sahni has demanded from the Omar Abdullah government to bring a strict law on cow slaughter and cow smuggling in Jammu and Kashmir keeping in mind the religious sentiments of Hindus and to give the cow the status of state mother. Sahni said that this decision of the Omar government will set an example for the whole country regarding mutual brotherhood and secularism.
Sahni Expressed deep concern over the increasing cases of cow smuggling in Jammu and Kashmir, said that in 2024, more than 200 cases of cow smuggling have been registered and 300 people have been arrested. He said that before the repeal of Section 370, 35A, there was a strict law on cow slaughter and smuggling in Jammu and Kashmir, which was abolished under the Jammu and Kashmir reorganization.
Along with this, there was a demand to declare Jammu as the permanent capital of the state. Sahni said that this decision will development of tourist places in Jammu, speed up trade and put a full stop to the allegations of discriminatory attitude towards Jammu. Along with this, administrative work can get rid of the hindrance of weather and terrorist activities to a great extent.
