APRIL 1: Following the tip off about the presence of terrorists in the area, security forces intensified the search operation in Panjtirthi area of Kathua district in Jammu and Kashmir.
This comes after the day when two terrorists were gunned down and four cops made the supreme sacrifice in Kathua.
“Acting on intelligence inputs, multiple surveillance cum ambushes were deployed in general area Panjtirthi, Kathua by Indian Army, J&K Police & CRPF. Suspicious movement was observed on the night of 31 March, leading to an exchange of fire. Search & Destroy Operations launched at first light on 01 April 25. Operations in progress.” said Rising Star Corps on X.
As per the reports, six people were detained following the reports of suspicious movement underpinning three individuals believed to be terrorists and had escaped during encounter in Kathua.
