MAY 2: On Friday, the Supreme Court gave six more weeks to Jammu and Kashmir Government to inform about number of Pakistani nationals detained under PSA.
A bench led by Justices Abhay S Oka and Ujjal Bhuyan gave six more weeks to inform about the number of Pakistani nationals detained under Public Safety Act 1978.
It is learnt that the authorities had apprised that data pertaining to such detainees was lost during floods in UT.
The Apex Court set up the next hearing for July 25.
The top court was hearing a plea filed by late Jammu and Kashmir National Panthers Party leader Bhim Singh whose plea demanded such persons to be set free for Pakistan.
Earlier, the Supreme Court expressed concerns over Pakistani nationals who were set free from Indian prisons after completing their terms and if Pakistan disregards them.
