Rajouri, June 23: Security forces have intensified search operations in the dense forests and hilly terrain of the Dorimal-Gambir Mughlan belt in Manjakote sector of Rajouri district, as the ongoing anti-terror mission, codenamed Operation Sheruwali, entered its 32nd day .
The operation was launched after security agencies received specific intelligence inputs suggesting the presence of militants in the area. Since then, forces have been carrying out sustained search and surveillance activities to track down any suspected movement.
Officials said troops have established a strong cordon around vulnerable pockets and are conducting area domination exercises along with regular patrols to ensure that militants do not escape the security net.
Despite the challenging weather and difficult mountainous terrain, the operation is progressing cautiously with personnel from the Army and Jammu and Kashmir Police working in close coordination. Authorities said every effort is being made to ensure the operation is conducted effectively while prioritising the safety of security personnel.
