Jammu, October 6: Jammu and Kashmir is likely to see a change in weather from today, with the Meteorological Department forecasting rain, thunderstorms, lightning and gusty winds at several places over the next few days.
The weather change comes after several days of warm conditions across the region. On October 5, Srinagar recorded a maximum temperature of 30.8°C, while Jammu recorded 33°C.
Rain is expected across most areas on October 6, while some places may receive rainfall on October 7 and 8. Another spell of rain is likely over several areas on October 9, followed by rain at a few places on October 10 and 11.
The Meteorological Department has also issued a warning for thunderstorms, lightning and gusty winds from October 6 to 10.
The change in weather is expected to bring some relief from the recent warm spell. Residents, especially those travelling to higher-altitude areas, have been advised to stay updated on the latest weather conditions.
