Jammu: In a significant crackdown on illegal liquor sales, Kanachak Police have arrested a non-local woman accused of selling liquor through unauthorized means.
The woman, identified as Leela Devi, wife of Rishu Dev and a resident of Fatehpur, Bihar, was residing in the Kanachak area of Jammu.
Acting on a tip-off, the police conducted a raid at her residence, leading to the recovery of 34 quarters of J&K Special Whisky, each containing 180 ml. Authorities revealed that the woman had been engaged in this illegal activity for quite some time, targeting local customers in the area.
A case has been registered against her, and further investigation is underway to uncover any potential links to other individuals involved in such illegal practices.
