Srinagar, September 30: Srinagar is hosting the 9th National Deaf Men’s T20 Cricket Championship 2026, bringing together deaf cricketers from different parts of the country for the national-level tournament.
The championship is being held from September 28 to October 4 at Bakshi Stadium and TRC Ground in Srinagar.
The tournament was formally inaugurated at Bakshi Stadium, where the Secretary of the J&K Sports Council welcomed the participating athletes and highlighted the importance of creating equal opportunities in sports. The official stressed that sports should be accessible to everyone, regardless of ability.
The hosting of the championship reflects the J&K Sports Council’s efforts to promote inclusive and competitive sports while supporting national-level events and making effective use of the sports infrastructure available in Jammu and Kashmir.
The participation of teams and athletes from across India also underlines Srinagar’s growing importance as a venue for national sporting events. The championship further demonstrates how sport can bring together participants from different regions and backgrounds on a common platform.
