Jammu, April 14: A series of mild earthquakes have been recorded in parts of Doda district of Jammu and Kashmir as well as the Leh region of Ladakh over the past few days, causing concern among residents. However, officials have confirmed that no damage or casualties have been reported so far.
Authorities said three tremors were felt in Doda within the last 72 hours, with the strongest measuring 4.6 magnitude, while the other two were recorded at 3.0 and 2.9 magnitudes. The sudden jolts led to brief panic among locals in some areas.
Meanwhile, the Leh region also experienced three low-intensity earthquakes over the past four days. These tremors measured 2.6, 3.2, and 3.0 magnitudes respectively. Officials stated that the quakes were minor and did not cause any significant loss to life or property.
