Tehsildar Khas makes seizure as Dharam Trust lease it to pvt contractor

Jammu: Public outrage was raised after the district administration seized about 2.5 kanal of land at Mubarak Mandi Heritage Complex with over one hundred and twenty private vehicles parked inside it.
The action on the part of the administration has reportedly been taken on court’s order.
Vehicle owners claimed that the Tehsildar Khas seized the parking lot without issuing notice as nearly 100 to 120 private vehicles were parked inside it at that time. This act of Tehsildar caused public outrage, they said.
They said that the parking lot in question is located outside the east gate of Mubarak Mandi Heritage Complex, which opens onto the road leading to Chowk Chabutra.
Official sources said that there is approximately 2.5 kanal of land which is claimed by the Dharam Trust. The trust has leased out this chunk of land to one Sanjay Kumar son of Sham Lal of Pakki Dhakki for private parking.
Meanwhile, The News Now, when contacted to Purnima Sharma, ex Deputy Mayor who happens to be the former JMC Corporator of the area, said that she had been apprised about the incident from certain quarters. She said that she had no clarity about the incident, adding, she had made contact with Assistant Commissioner Revenue. She assured that the private vehicles which belonged to the locals of the area and are parked inside the parking lot would be released soon.
She further said that she had been told that the area used for parking lot is subjudiced.
She said that the land in question has been claimed by many, adding, there is a private school which also reportedly stake claim on it.
