Jammu, July 22: Member of Parliament Mian Altaf Ahmad continued his visit to flood-hit areas on Wednesday after his official vehicle was stranded in a landslide on the Jammu–Poonch Highway.
Officials said the landslide blocked the road while the MP was travelling to meet residents affected by recent heavy rainfall and flash floods. Although his vehicle could not proceed, Mian Altaf safely stepped out without suffering any injuries.
Despite the disruption, he chose to continue his journey on foot to reach the affected villages and assess the damage firsthand.
Authorities confirmed that no one was injured in the incident. They added that intermittent landslides have been reported at several locations along the highway due to continuous rainfall, and the situation is being closely monitored.
