SEPT 8: Following the abusive video of AAP MLA Doda Mehraj Malik about DC Doda Harvinder Singh has spread rapidly on social media, the MLA has been detained by Police on Monday.
According to the reports, Deputy Commissioner Doda Harvinder Singh filed an FIR against Malik for allegedly using abusive language, which resulted in the detention of MLA Doda.
It is learnt that a few days back MLA Mehraj Malik lashed out on DC Doda. Malik accused administration of misusing officials to enforce a strike.Besides, it is not the first time when MLA Malik has been derogatory towards adminstration with offensive language as several of his videos have surfaced on internet in the recent time.
As of now, the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) has not issued a formal statement in this regard assuming FIR as attempts to stop disagreements between both.
Also, security has been heightened in Doda to thwart any protest or agitation in this regard.
PDP MLA Pulwama Waheed Para took to X and posted, “Strongly condemn the use of PSA against MLA Mehraj Malik. Such draconian laws are weaponised to silence political voices & crush dissent. Such authoritarian measures are no way to resolve differences in a democracy.”
