BANI, Aug 8: In the wake of heavy rainfall that caused widespread damage in the hilly areas of Bani constituency, MLA Bani Dr. Rameshwar Singh today visited the Najot Panchayat to assess the extent of loss and interact with affected residents.
The region witnessed continuous downpours leading to severe damage to roads, houses, agricultural land, and standing crops. Responding swiftly, Dr. Rameshwar Singh, accompanied by a team of senior officials from various departments, reached the affected areas to take stock of the situation.
Officials present during the visit included Tehsildar Lohi Malhar, BDO Dhuggani, XEn PMGSY, AEE PMGSY, officers from PDD, PHE, Agriculture Department, and other line departments.
The MLA and the administrative officers inspected the damaged infrastructure and listened to the grievances of the local population.
On-the-spot directions were issued by the MLA to all concerned departments to initiate immediate restoration work.
He emphasized quick restoration of road connectivity, power supply, drinking water services, and other essential amenities.
Dr. Singh also directed the officials to prepare comprehensive assessment reports for compensation to those whose houses and agricultural lands have been damaged due to the rain.
Addressing the gathering, Dr. Singh assured the people that every possible assistance would be provided and that the administration stands firmly with them during this crisis.
He further stated that relief and rehabilitation measures would be prioritized, and all necessary help would be extended at the earliest.
Local residents expressed gratitude to Dr. Rameshwar Singh for his proactive approach, timely visit, and empathetic response. The public appreciated his commitment towards addressing their concerns and ensuring that relief efforts are expedited without delay.
