Takes away her 19 lakh jewellery

Jammu: A 37-year-old woman, the mother to two kids, was allegedly raped by her acquaintance on the pretext of marriage and fled away with her jewllery worth rupees nineteen lakh.
A case, in this connection, vide FIR No 66/2025 U/S 64/69/BNS has been registered at Police Station Gangyal on the direction of SSP Jammu Joginder Singh.
The victim woman told police that one Ankush Dogra son of Darshan Lal Dogra of Nai Basti, met her in the year 2020 through some common friends.
After a few months, he proposed to her for marriage and showed her his divorce papers signed by his wife .
The duo later stepped into a live-in relationship.
In 2021, he told her that he wanted to start a new business for their future and took her gold of around 19 lakh which she had saved for her two daughters future. After a few days the accused went missing with his phone switched off. To trace him, the victim woman reached his house at Nai Basti where she was apprised that the man with whom she wanted to spend her life as partner was in fact a fraudster. The accused, on the other hand, started threatening her on the grounds that he had her objectionable photographs with him and he would upload the same on social media if she told anybody about the incident. She further told police that the accused is now blackmailing her and often comes to her rented house to satisfy his lust.
