JAMMU, MARCH 24: On Monday, Leader of Opposition (LoP) Sunil Sharma highlighted the concern of water crisis in Jammu and Kashmir in view of 72-hour-long shutdown by PHE Daily Wagers.
In Legislative Assembly, Sunil Sharma advocated the talks with daily wagers who have been agitating since Friday adding that owing to shutdown by Daily Wagers, J&K is witnessing water crisis.
Sunil Sharma further said the daily wagers have clashed with Police and reached near Civil Secretariat. In this regard, Speaker Abdul Rahim Rather said that the issue has been outlined in the House to inform the Government.
Scores of daily wagers stood in solidarity and in a fervent display of dissent protest marched to Civil Secretariat for their Regularization and withheld wages.
Earlier, Deputy Chief Minister Surinder Choudhary has said that the Government is committed to safeguard the interest of daily wagers and in this direction a committee has been formed.
