Jammu, August 13: Jammu and Kashmir Police has activated the National General Emergency Response System (NGER) through Dial 112 across all police stations in the Jammu Zone.
The service will provide people with a single number to seek immediate assistance during various emergencies, including police help, medical emergencies, fire incidents, women-related emergencies and disaster situations.
Officials urged the public to make use of the facility whenever urgent assistance is required.
The police have also launched an awareness drive through posters carrying the message: “In case of an emergency, anytime, anywhere, Dial 112 for immediate assistance.”
The move is aimed at strengthening emergency response and ensuring that people can quickly access assistance through a single helpline number.
