Jammu, August 12: Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha has summoned the autumn session of the Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Assembly to commence on September 21, 2026, in Srinagar, following a recommendation from the J&K Council of Ministers.
The order was issued by the Lieutenant Governor under Section 18(1) of the Jammu and Kashmir Reorganisation Act, 2019, which empowers him to summon the Legislative Assembly.
The upcoming session is expected to provide an opportunity for legislators to deliberate on various issues concerning Jammu and Kashmir, including public concerns, development matters and government policies.
The session will also allow members to raise issues related to their respective constituencies and seek responses from the government on matters of public importance.
Following the Lieutenant Governor’s order, Speaker of the J&K Legislative Assembly will finalise the calendar of business and the schedule of sittings for the session.
